THE RULE OF THREE: FIGHT FOR POWER by Eric Walters
Farrar, Straus and Giroux Books for Young Readers
January 2015; 978-0-374-30179-8; $17.99/NCR; 5 ½ x 8 ¼; 352 pp.; Ages 12 & Up

After sixty-six days of a catastrophic global blackout, life in the suburbs is not what it used to be for Adam and his fortified neighborhood of Eden Mills. Although an explosive clash has minimized one threat from outside the walls, Adam’s battle-hardened mentor, Herb, continues to make decisions in the name of security that are increasingly wrenching and questionable. Like his police chief mom and others, Adam will follow Herb’s lead. But when the next threat comes from an unexpected direction, nobody is ready for it. And someone is going to pay the price—because of Adam’s mistakes and mistaken trust.

Praise for THE RULE OF THREE:

REVIEWS:

THE RETURN OF ZITA THE SPACEGIRL by Ben Hatke
BoingBoing, June 13, 2014: READ IT HERE!
“Can only be called an absolute triumph.”

Sequential Tart, June 16, 2014: AUTHOR INTERVIEW!
“Zita is an unintentionally heroic girl with impulse control issues, a quick temper, and a strong sense of justice. Her target audience is...well I take the idea of the ‘all-ages’ story very seriously.”

SHACKLETON by Nick Bertozzi
New York Times, June 18, 2014: “Daring Deeds: Nick Bertozzi’s Shackleton
“Exciting, amusing and detailed…An amazing tale.”

“A century ago, Ernest Shackleton planned the first trek from shore to shore across Antarctica. During their journey, he and the crew aboard the Endurance became stranded in ice along the Antarctic coast and nearly perished. Now their story is being told in a beautiful new graphic novel from artist Nick Bertozzi.”

Paste, June 12, 2014: READ IT HERE!
“It’s rare to see such a range of structures, especially within such a limited number of pages, but Bertozzi’s determination to keep his story fresh lends energy to the tale.”

THIS ONE SUMMER by Mariko Tamaki, illus. by Jillian Tamaki
Shelf Awareness, June 24, 2014

THE SCULPTOR by Scott McCloud
USA Today, June 25, 2014: EXCLUSIVE COVER REVEAL!
“A page-turner from beginning to end.”

THE ZOO BOX by Ariel Cohn, illus. by Aron Nels Steinke
Kirkus, July 15, 2014 issue
“The zoo comes to two unsuspecting children when they discover a magical, mysterious box…Told through wide, bright panels, this graphic-novel/picture-book hybrid will certainly conjure memories of Chris Van Allsburg’s Jumanji.

Publishers Weekly, June 20, 2014 issue
“The box that must not be opened is a tried-and-true storytelling device; Cohn and Steinke’s graphic novel–style picture book, however, is anything but formulaic.”

OF ALL THE GIN JOINTS: A Cocktail Drinker's Guide to Hollywood Hijinks and Mayhem by Edward Hemingway and Mark Bailey

Yazarlarımız Edward Hemingway and Mark Bailey ayrıca Hemingway and Bailey's Bartending Guide to Great American Writers'ın yazarları.Kitap, Algonquin(İngiliz) yayınevinden bu Eylül'de yayınlanacak. Konu başlıklarını aşağıdaki İngilizce metinde bulabilirsiniz.

True tales of celebrity hijinks are served up with an equal measure of Hollywood history, movie-star mayhem, and a frothy mix of forty cocktail recipes.

Humphrey Bogart got himself arrested for protecting his drinking buddies, who happened to be a pair of stuffed pandas. Ava Gardner would water-ski to the set of Night of the Iguana holding a towline in one hand and a cocktail in the other. Barely legal Natalie Wood would let Dennis Hopper seduce her if he provided a bathtub full of champagne. Bing Crosby’s ill-mannered antics earned him the nickname “Binge Crosby.” And sweet Mary Pickford stashed liquor in hydrogen peroxide bottles during Prohibition. From the frontier days of silent film up to the wild auteur period of the 1970s, Mark Bailey has pillaged the vaults of Hollywood history and lore to dig up the true—and often surprising—stories of seventy of our most beloved actors, directors, and screenwriters at their most soused.

Bite-size biographies are followed by ribald anecdotes and memorable quotes. If a star had a favorite cocktail, the recipe is included. Films with the most outrageous booze-soaked stories, likeApocalypse Now, From Here to Eternity, and The Misfits, are featured, along with the legendary watering holes of the day (and the recipes for their signature drinks). Edward Hemingway’s portraits complete this spirited look at America’s most iconic silver-screen legends.

“This book is like being at the best dinner party in the world. And I thought I was the first person to put a bar in my closet. I was clearly born during the wrong era.” —Chelsea Handler
